Social bookmarking is a way for users to store, organize, share and search bookmarks of websites. These bookmarks are public, unless otherwise specified to be private, and directly available to other users and through search engines. Description
This resource helps pupils to explore their own lives – and the world around them – by looking at the lives of four children from around the world.
Students will:
- create story boards outlining the structure of their day
- create "I can" books
- write and illustrate their dreams
General Assessment
Strengths
- Resource is well laid out, easy to use and available via Internet.
- Resource does a very good job of embracing cultural diversity.
- Case studies provided are detailed, informative and engaging for students.
Weaknesses
- Resource does not adequately address issues relating to cultural diversity.
- Students are not empowered to choose elements of their own programming.
- A personal affinity with the Earth is not encouraged.
To enhance this resource the following changes are strongly recommended:
- Students should take part in some form of authentic peer-teaching activity.
- Issues relating to cultural diversity should be presented to students.
