Elementary, Middle, Secondary

Description

"Air Pollution 101" begins with an explanation of exactly what air pollution is. The video continues by detailing the causes of air pollution from natural sources and human activity. It also explains three types of human-caused air pollution: greenhouse gases, smog and toxic pollutants.  The video concludes by promoting limiting the use of fossil fuels as a means of resolving the impact of air pollution.

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This video is best suited for the upper elementary and middle school classroom due to the Science concepts and terminology discussed.  This video could be used as an introduction to air pollutants. Students could use the video as a jumping off point to investigate the different types of air pollution in their own communities and then make posters to encourage others to limit their contributions to air pollution.
